Description
🧐Apophyllite as well as Chalcedony are not strictly speaking rare minerals, on the contrary, they are common minerals of the Silicate family. Silicates are minerals whose skeleton is essentially formed by tetrahedra of silicon and oxygen (SiO4).What makes these pieces unique and rare is their crystallization. Here, Chalcedony crystallized into Stalactite, then a second crystallization of Apophyllite and Stilbite formed around it, the whole sealed by another white mineral, Mordenite. When we look closely at the photos, we see this white fibrous mineral layer between the chalcedony and apophyllite crystals.
